5 Vitamins We Recommend for Women in 2023

We are officially making 2023 a year of good health for women. So, grab your Lazuli Workout Leggings (or check out our latest collection of Scrunch Sculpt Shorts), fill that water bottle to the top, and take some of these vitamins!

Vitamins, minerals and other supplements can be a good way to give your body the fuel it needs. This can help to make your skin better, strengthen your muscles, reduce workout recovery times, and even boost your immune system.

While some vitamins are only needed when you have a deficiency, others are great for boosting health above and beyond. Discover 5 of the vitamin supplements we recommend especially for women below and make sure you give a medical health professional or nutritionist a call before you start a new vitamin-enriched diet plan!

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D is great for bone health, inflammation and breaking down carbs in your body for fuel. It’s one of the best vitamins you can take daily to naturally help your body stay fit and strong at the gym.

If you spend a lot of time in the sunshine, your body will naturally create the vitamin D you need from ultraviolet light (this happens even when wearing sun lotion) but supplements are a great way to ensure you are getting all that you need. Whether it’s the middle of winter or you just prefer to exercise indoors rather than outside, vitamin D3 is a great supplement to start with.

Omega-3 (or Fish Oil Supplements for Women)

Omega-3s aren’t just limited to fish fingers. A wide range of seafood and some plant matters provide a source of omega-3s. These unsaturated fats have many different uses in the body. Some of their most well-known health benefits include maintaining heart health and eye health. But did you know that omega-3s are also great for your muscles?

Omega-3s have great anti-inflammatory properties and this allows them to potentially reduce muscle soreness after a workout and help you to maintain muscle strength throughout a workout. You’ll stay stronger for longer!

Eating a couple portions of fish (salmon and tuna are good for omega-3s) per week will help you fill your quota, or you can choose a high-quality omega-3 supplement.

B Complex Vitamins

The vitamin B complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12) are one of our recommended vitamin supplements for 2023, especially for women.

Most people receive enough of these B vitamins through their diet, however deficiencies aren’t that uncommon. For women in particular, there are several reasons why you may be deficient in one or many B vitamins. First, there’s evidence that birth control pills can deplete levels of B6 and B12. If you are pregnant or aiming to become pregnant, it is highly recommended that you take B12 (also known as folate) to support the development of your baby.

Vegetarians and vegans may also be advised to supplement with B vitamins that would ordinarily be provided by meat and dairy in their diet.

Probiotics

Probiotics are the friendly gut bacteria in your body - not to be confused with prebiotics, the carb food source that those bacteria need to thrive. The advantages of having the right probiotics in your gut can include healthier skin, better digestion, and even weight loss. So, we highly recommend trying a probiotic supplement if you are working on your diet and general wellness this year!

Probiotic supplements contain a range of different bacteria species, but you should know that not every scientist agrees on which bacteria are best. There’s also some debate about the health benefits associated with supplements. So, the best way to get your daily dose of probiotics is simply to add foods that naturally contain probiotics to your diet. Yoghurt is a good example and it is also a source of proteins, making it a great post-workout snack.

Iron

If you have the symptoms of an iron deficiency (anaemia) then 2023 is the year to get it diagnosed and make some changes! An iron deficiency can make you feel tired all the time and even out of breath when you try to exercise. So, supplementing with iron to prevent anaemia will restore your energy so you’ll be wearing your Lazuli Label Athleisure Clothing and getting back to the gym in no time!

There are many different iron supplements that you can take, but we recommend talking to your doctor about which one is best for you. Anaemia can be quite serious for your health, so make sure you get an appointment with a doctor rather than self-diagnosing and supplementing at home.

Whether you are a die-hard whey protein girly or can’t go a day without your multivitamin, we wish you health and wellness this year! Don’t forget to share your fitness and wellness journey with us on TikTok and Instagram. We love to see our customers staying strong and fit in our comfy Lazuli clothing.
